Cláudia Romba

Cláudia graduated in Law from the Law Faculty of the University of Lisbon. She took the postgraduate studies in Corporate Law also at the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon. Initiated her apprenticeship in Lisbon in May 2013 at “PRA – Raposo, Sá Miranda & Associados”, where she was invited to work as an intern with the esteemed lawyer, Dr. Correia de Almeida. She completed her internship at “Vences, Ryan & Associados,” under the supervision of Dr. Joaquim Morgado Vences. She is currently an Associate at that firm. She speaks fluent English.
Isabel Ferreira Barata
Lawyer – Senior Associate
She graduated in Law (majoring in Juridical Sciences) from Lisbon’s Lusíada University in 1991. She was invited to serve her apprenticeship in Lisbon with highly respected lawyers Mr. Francisco Sancho de Sousa Uva and Mr. Luis Pedro Moitinho de Almeida, and completed her training in 1993. She has lectured and trained in Labour Law. In 1994, she joined the law practice that would become “Bragança Bruno & Associados” a year later, and was a co-founder of this firm. Currently she practises law at “Vences, Ryan & Associados”. She speaks English and deals mainly with family and succession law, labour and criminal law and civil liability, particularly road accidents.
João Filipe Luís
Lawyer – Associate
He graduated in Law from the Classic Law University of Lisbon in 1999 and served his apprenticeship at "Torgal Ferreira, Ramalho Ortigão & Associados”. Between 2001 and 2006 he worked at “Colliers P&I” where is main activities were inventories and studies of real estate assets, administration of condominiums and activities of research and real estate studies. Between 2006 and 2015 he worked at “Bragança Bruno & Associados” as associate. Currently he practices law at “Vences, Ryan & Associados”. He speaks English and his main areas of practice are contracts, real estate transactions, registrations and notarial acts, succession law and banking law.
Cátia Cardoso
Lawyer - Associate
She graduated in Law from the Classic Law University of Lisbon in 1999 and she served her apprenticeship at "Bragança Bruno & Associados", completed of her training in 2001. In March 2004, she started to work as an associate in the Algarve office of “Bragança Bruno & Associados”. On completion of her training in 1998, she became an associate at the firm. She has completed several training courses in registration and notarial law. Currently she practices law at “Vences, Ryan & Associados”. She speaks English and her main areas of practice are contract, real estate transactions, registrations and notarial acts, succession law and local rental license.
Dora Isabel Moleiro
Lawyer – Managing Partner
She graduated in Law (majoring in Juridical-Business Sciences) from the Lusíada University in Lisbon on July 31st 1996. She then started her apprenticeship at the office of Mr. Valério Bexiga and, at the same time, her work at “Bragança Bruno & Associados”. On completion of her training in 1998, she became an associate at the firm. She has completed several training courses in labour and business law, registration and notarial law, and holds a graduate course in consumers’ rights. Currently she is a partner and co-founder of “Vences, Ryan & Associados” where she practises law. She speaks English and her main areas of practice are contract, real estate transactions, registrations and notarial acts, succession law and banking law.
Joaquim Morgado Vences
Lawyer – Managing Partner
He graduated in Law (majoring in Juridical Sciences) from Lisbon’s Lusíada University in 1989. He was then invited to serve his apprenticeship in Lisbon with highly respected lawyers Mr. Francisco Sancho de Sousa Uva and Luís Pedro Moitinho de Almeida. He completed his apprenticeship in January 1992. He has been legal adviser at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and holds a Master’s Degree in Cooperation and Development Sciences from the Moderna University in Lisbon. In 1994, he joined the law practice that would become “Bragança Bruno & Associados” and was a co-founder of the firm. In addition to his legal practice, to which he now dedicates himself exclusively, at “Vences, Ryan & Associados”, he has lectured and held management positions in forestry enterprises. He speaks English, French and Spanish.
Justin Ryan
Solicitor - Partner
A Law graduate from University College Cork in the Republic of Ireland, he qualified as a Solicitor in 1980. Following 10 years of practising law in the Republic, he moved to the United Kingdom. After obtaining his licence to work as a Solicitor in the UK, he became a partner at Manchester’s Halliwell Landau – Law Firm, where he remained until 1996. He then moved to Portugal, where he joined “Bragança Bruno & Associados” in October 1997 to open the Algarve branch office as a partner and a consultant on Irish and English law. Currently he is a partner and cofounder of “Vences, Ryan & Associados”. He speaks Portuguese. He deals mainly with contract (overseas jurisdictions), tourism and real estate law, and handles the firm’s foreign clients.
